The first wave of students arrived on campus yesterday. Seniors and postgraduates in the class of 2020 registered and moved into their dormitories. A sumptuous buffet luncheon followed. Then, I offered the official Franklin Academy welcome to all parents and students in the Great Room of the Schoolhouse. Teachers introduced themselves. There were reminders about important upcoming dates on the calendar, and advertisements for two great trip opportunities. The first is the seventh annual Fall College Trip this coming October. The second is our international trip during spring intersession to Berlin, Prague, Krakow, and Budapest. Finally, parents and students went separate ways on campus to begin orientation. By late afternoon, it was time for moms and dads to say goodbye. In conclusion, it was a great start to a new school year.
