We have passed the midpoint of the Winter Trimester. Results from our most recent all-school COVID-19 testing this week came back negative for everyone. Hurray! Now, CDC research is indicating that double masking provides a robust level of protection. Indeed, an outer cloth mask with a surgical (blue) mask underneath might well be the ultimate protection for everyone. Next, the pandemic numbers in Connecticut are rapidly improving. The statewide positivity percentage for COVID-19 testing over the past week dropped to 3.1%; Friday, it was just 2.2%. However, now more than ever, it is vital that we stay the course at Franklin Academy and continue to execute our comprehensive campus safety plan.
PS: Our week-long celebration of Halfway Day included an outdoor freeze dance competition. As always, we practiced physical distancing while wearing our masks.
