Dear Franklin Academy Community:

As our school emerges from the pandemic and we look forward to an exciting future, the Board of Trustees would like to announce a restructuring of Franklin Academy’s founding administrative team. We feel this new structure will best serve the Franklin community as we execute our strategic plan.

Fred Weissbach, who has served as the founding Head of School since 2002, will assume the new position of President. Fred will champion and chart the school’s progress through our carefully crafted strategic plan. He will also oversee all aspects of the school’s business operations, working with administrators involved with admissions, development, budget, and facilities.

Tom Hays, who joined Franklin Academy as Educational Director in 2002, will now become Head of School. In this role, Tom will be responsible for all aspects of our program, including academic staff, student experiences, and our partnership with parents. Tom will manage the school’s day-to-day operations with the assistance of his program administrators.

Later this month, Fred, Tom, Mary Murphy, our Development Director, and I will host a series of informational zooms for current parents and alumni families. We will provide an overview of our strategic plan, share details about exciting changes to our program, and outline new initiatives. Stay tuned for an email from Fred, who will supply dates and zoom links.

Sincerely,

Belinda
