Michael Park
Michael began his educational career assisting his own children during the Covid quarantine. Discovering a passion for education, he began as a paraprofessional in a self-contained classroom and quickly transitioned to being the long-term substitute teacher for that same program. He has spent the last three years sharing his passion for mathematics with Franklin Academy students and is currently seeking his Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Southern Connecticut State University.
Michael has spearheaded the push to bring Computer Science to Franklin. He has consistently taught electives at various levels for the programming language Python, and has encouraged other faculty with computer science knowledge to share their expertise as well. 2024-25 marks the first year of his mentoring a robotics club at Franklin, with a goal of creating a competitive robotics team for the school. In addition to mathematics, Michael has also coached martial arts and flying trapeze, and is currently working toward his third-degree black belt in a style that blends Krav Maga and Muay Thai. In his spare time, Michael tries to keep his sons’ lego collection from conquering the entire house.
