Toni Schexnyder
With a distinguished career spanning over a decade in college and career counseling, Toni Schexnyder brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to supporting students’ unique needs to Franklin Academy.
Toni started her career as a College Admission Counselor at Texas State University, where she quickly distinguished herself before transitioning to The Winston School San Antonio. There, as Associate Dean of College Counseling for eight years, Toni specialized in supporting neurodivergent students, honing her expertise in tailoring counseling strategies to diverse learning profiles.
An International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach, Toni specializes in Executive Function and ADHD coaching, providing targeted support that empowers students to excel. Her dedication to the field is also evident through her active roles in professional organizations. Toni served on the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling’s Executive Board as co-chair of the Government Relations Committee from 2019 to 2022 and currently contributes to the New Member Outreach and Communication Committee for the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s Learning Differences Special Interest Group.
As an enthusiastic speaker and writer, Toni has presented on Neurodiversity in College at various Texas-based and national events since 2017. Her insights were further recognized with the publication of her article, “Think Outside the Box: Preparing Neurodiverse Students for College and Career Success,” in LINK for Counselors magazine in 2023.
