Kim Youmans
Kim is a seasoned mental health professional with over two decades of experience across various therapeutic settings. She joined the Franklin Academy faculty as a counselor in 2021 and enjoys working closely with students and their families, assessing their emotional needs and supporting their growth and education.
Prior to working at Franklin Academy, Kim had a successful private practice where she offered individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and couples, utilizing techniques such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Her extensive experience also includes providing family therapy to adolescents in a residential treatment facility for co-occurring disorders, individual and group therapy to adults facing mental health challenges or substance abuse issues, and solution-focused therapy to a wide range of clients with diverse mental health needs. Additionally, she worked as an In-Home Therapist at Klingberg Family Centers, offering intensive family preservation and reunification services.
Throughout her career, Kim has demonstrated a deep commitment to helping individuals and families navigate their mental health challenges, drawing on her extensive experience and diverse skill set to make a meaningful impact in their lives. In her free time, Kim loves antiquing, doing D.I.Y. projects, hunting for sea glass, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys hiking, yoga, and watching the Yankees and women’s basketball.
