Kevin O'Brien
This is Kevin O’Brien’s 3rd year at Franklin Academy and he couldn’t be more excited to be a part of such a creative, collaborative and empathetic community. He comes to Franklin from the Bay Area where he taught special education for over 12 years and specialized in the development of Executive Functioning, Social Emotional Learning, and Reading Comprehension skills.
While working on his graduate degree, Kevin was selected among a group of educators to participate in a teaching fellowship program in Cape Town, South Africa. He worked collaboratively with students and educators from the Langa Township to develop social emotional learning curriculum and STEM lesson plans at the Langa LEAP School of Math and Science. When not in the classroom, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys William and Wesley, tromping the coast and forests of the Eastern Woodlands looking for their next adventure. Kevin is also an avid record collector, recording musician and skateboard enthusiast. It is his passion to serve the community and help impact the lives of young people in meaningful ways.
