Biography:

As a recent addition to the Franklin Academy community, I bring a strong academic background in sustainability and anthropology, as well experience in the relatively new discipline of animal science. My focus is on exploring the complex interactions between humans, nonhuman animals, and the environment, particularly in areas such as animal welfare, wildlife conservation, environmental and animal ethics, and the human-animal bond. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about integrating interdisciplinary approaches to education, especially in fields that connect the environment, culture, and anthrozoology. I am eager to share this passion with the students at Franklin Academy, helping them develop a deeper understanding of how animals and the environment influence and enhance human life, and inspiring them to explore the ethical, cultural, and ecological dimensions of human-animal relationships. When he’s not studying or teaching about the way human and nonhuman animals interact, his interests include watching horror movies, anything X-Men related, and reading fantasy and fiction books, especially those by J.R.R. Tolkien.
