Alex Beardsley
Alex Beardsley recently graduated from Smith College in May and is excited to be teaching at Franklin Academy this year in their first lead teacher role. Before coming to Franklin, Alex worked at schools across Massachusetts and Connecticut under veteran science teachers and shadowing administrators, with a focus on supporting a diverse population of learner needs. Alex is currently pursuing a Master’s in Teaching Leadership from Mount Holyoke College.
Alex brings over a decade of theatre experience, both onstage and off. Alex has worked in directing, stage management, sound design, projection design, lighting design, and more. While in college, Alex founded a student theatre organization called Thank You, Five, a theatre space entirely run by and for students of color. Alex has directed two full length productions, including She Kills Monsters in the fall of 2022. Alex is excited to be helping out with Franklin’s theater program and will be directing a one-act play for the Connecticut Drama Festival.
When not studying, teaching, or doing theatre, Alex enjoys spending time with family and partaking in “nerdy” hobbies such as Dungeons and Dragons, board games, and playing Magic the Gathering.
