From Uncertainty to Understanding: Building College Clarity for Neurodivergent Teens
Transitioning from high school to college can be an overwhelming and ambiguous process for neurodivergent students and their families—especially when traditional preparation focuses solely on academics without addressing real-world application. This session is designed for educators, school leaders, parents, and students themselves to explore practical, actionable strategies for evaluating college readiness across various stages of high school life. We will examine how to design and implement targeted experiential learning opportunities that bridge skills from the classroom to the campus, helping students connect learning outcomes directly to post-secondary expectations. Participants will leave with clear methods for linking strengths to placement decisions, reducing difficulties with generalization, and creating a more confident, informed path to higher education.
