Last March, the pandemic’s sudden arrival disrupted the creation and publication of Franklin Academy’s yearbook – the 2020 Phoenix. We expect to unveil this volume of the yearbook during a celebratory moment later in the year. Meanwhile, we are planning to produce the 2021 Phoenix.

The first critical assignment to be completed are individual student, faculty, and staff photographs. We have scheduled this team-by-team photo session in thirty-minute segments for Wednesday, November 11. Here is the plan. First, the Owls will come to the Great Room at 9:00 am. Next, FLI students will arrive at 9:30. Herons follow at 10:00. Then, the Cranes will have their turn at 10:30. Finally, all non-team employees, including administrators, dining hall and maintenance staff, and health center and admissions office personnel, will conclude the morning shoot, starting at 11:00.

Here is additional information. The photo session is a dress-up occasion. There will be a reddish maroon photo background for those who want to coordinate color choices. Please see team leadership for additional information about dress or direction on how to knot a tie.

As a way of saying thank you for everyone’s big smiles for the camera (without masks!), the dining hall staff will offer a sumptuous Wednesday luncheon. Menu items include many student favorites: steak with Montreal seasoning, mashed potatoes, green beans, chicken tenders, mac & cheese, and icebox pie for dessert. “M’m! M’m! Good!”
