Adam Waldie, FA class of 2018, was interested in only one university. He applied early decision to Rochester Institute of Technology. Adam was accepted and is now midway through his sophomore year at RIT. His younger brother, Josh Waldie, is following a different strategy. Josh applied to four universities, and three have said yes – Western New England University, the University of Maine, and RIT. He is still waiting for an answer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Once Josh hears from all of his schools, there will be the challenge of making the best decision. WNE is offering a generous financial package. The University of Maine is closer to home. An older brother attends RIT. Josh’s science instructor is an alumnus of RPI. While there is no wrong decision, it will be fun to speculate how each option might change the trajectory of one’s life. This could also be the time to reread Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken.”
