This past Friday, March 25, the Art Committee showcased student and faculty talent at the Franklin Academy Arts Gala. The fieldhouse venue created the ambiance of a true warehouse-style exhibition with thirty-seven artists presenting more than seventy works, including photography, oil/acrylic on canvas, collage, sculpture, and found/natural objects. Students from the African Studies course and the Woodsmanship class submitted their hand-batiked fabric and carved bow drill sets. Jared Tinory, a graduating FLI senior, provided music; he shared his original, never-released compositions for the event. The annual show was a joyous celebration of unique talents in our community. Julie Connors extends a huge thank you to everyone who submitted art and all who attended the Gala.
