Our sixth annual college tour itinerary has now been revised to take advantage of opportunities to visit schools where Franklin Academy alumni have just matriculated. This tour occurs during the Columbus Day Week, coinciding with Franklin Academy’s mid-fall break, and the experience is recommended for juniors, seniors, and postgraduates as they consider their range of college options. New destinations include Hartwick College, Binghamton University, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Syracuse University. In addition, we will be visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, and we have the chance to participate in the Game Career Exploration Day at Champlain College, the self-proclaimed “Harvard” of game design. We will be traveling in three Franklin Academy SUVs across New York and New England. We are staying in Hampton Inns everywhere because of the exceptional comfort, free and fast wi-fi, and hot breakfast every morning, except Saratoga Springs where we are upgrading to an Embassy Suites. Depending on the final size of our group, rooms will be either double or triple occupancy. In addition to breakfast at the hotel every morning, lunch will typically be at a college dining hall, and dinner will be in a nice restaurant. Dress is casual, comfortable, and clean; good walking shoes, sweater and windbreaker, and rain gear are highly recommended. Josh Weissbach, Team B Residential Dean, and James Turner, FLI Learning Specialist, will once again be joining me as trip chaperones for our fifth college trip together. We will be departing campus early afternoon on Friday, October 5. Take a look at the itinerary below to discover the wide range of colleges and universities that we will be visiting.
