The weather on Saturday and Sunday was perfect for the start of our new school year. There was good energy and excitement as students reunited with classmates and teachers. Franklin veterans quickly connected with our new families, and friendships blossomed instantaneously. All the while, the camera was clicking away. We photographed families (with pets), individual students, and teachers as they introduced themselves during the official welcome. There were group shots and candids as well. What a difference a year makes! Last September’s opening was a “drop and go” experience as we followed strict pandemic protocols. Now that the Franklin family is vaccinated, we allowed parents into the dorms to assist with the move-in. Everyone assembled on the field by the dining hall for an official welcome and a barbecue lunch. Parents and students followed separate orientation schedules through mid-afternoon. Then, after a dessert break, it was time to say goodbye. Click here for a glimpse of our successful opening weekend.
