A highlight of the spring trimester was our first annual student/faculty kickball game played last week. Cheerleaders and spectators gathered under a sunny sky to root for their favorites. First-year Franklin teachers joined the student team to even the playing field, and the competition was fierce. Teachers quickly jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the students clawed their way back. At the top of the seventh inning, a student home run tightened the score. Then, the students loaded the bases. However, a timely faculty double play ended the threat, and the teachers prevailed – 8 to 6. In a show of good sportsmanship, both teams lined up for the traditional elbow bump, congratulating each other on a game well played. Players exchanged challenges for next year and gathered together for a “Go Franklin” cheer. Click here for the short video slideshow.
