Rory Gibbs, Liza Harris, and Carly Rembish, three members of our class of 2019, have been accepted into Mansfield Hall’s residential college support program (www.mansfieldhall.org). Mansfield Hall in Burlington, Vermont offers students the opportunity to take classes at the University of Vermont, Champlain College, St. Michael’s College, Community College of Vermont, Vermont Technical College, and Burlington College. This is the program that accepted Rory and Carly. Mansfield Hall in Madison, Wisconsin offers students the chance to study at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Edgewood College, Madison College, and Madison Area Technical College, and this is the program that said yes to Liza’s application.

Mansfield Hall, according to its website, “offers a comprehensive post-secondary living and learning community for young adults, who with additional individualized support, have the academic potential to be successful in college. We serve students with social communication challenges, executive functioning deficits, mild autism or Asperger’s Syndrome, nonverbal learning disabilities, learning disabilities, and other diverse learning needs that provide challenges to obtaining a college degree independently without supports.”

In addition to Mansfield Hall, Rory has been accepted by Evergreen State College (www.evergreen.edu). Liza Harris has offers from Beacon College (www.beaconcollege.edu), Curry College (www.curry.edu), Mitchell College (www.mitchell.edu), Muskingum University (www.muskingum.edu), and the University of Indianapolis (www.uindy.edu). Carly’s plan is to take classes at Community College of Vermont (http://ccv.edu) while living at Mansfield Hall.

Congratulations to Rory, Liza, and Carly! We look forward to updates about their college options as more acceptances are received.
