The traditional Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do flourishes at Franklin Academy. Master Roberto Padua leads our school team through rigorous workouts. Consequently, our competitors succeeded at the recent Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation Inter-Club Tournament in Waterbury, Connecticut. The tournament focused on forms, which are detailed choreographed patterns of movements, and the breaking of boards. Sam and Rhett competed in the boys’ 14 to 17-year-old division. As a result of their solid preparation, Rhett won first place in forms and breaking, and Sam earned second place in both. Josh competed in the adult division, placing third in forms and third in breaking. These students deserve our congratulations. With the beginning of the second semester in January, students will once again be able to take Tang Soo Do as an elective class.
