Last Day in Iceland

So quickly it is over. But there are plenty of memories of savor again and again. Here is Sean O’Leary’s report of the last day in Iceland.

Hi Fred,

We spent our last full day in Iceland by taking a drive outside of Reykjavik to some colorful geothermal mud pots and milky blue hot springs. The contrasting shades of sand next to the boiling mud were beautiful but the smell of sulfur that filled the air was rather off-putting. The Blue Lagoon was a great way to cap off a busy 10 days of education through adventure. The mineral-rich waters and silica masks offered some reinvigoration as our days in Iceland draw to a close. We spent our final meal reminiscing about this trip, highlighting our favorite excursions, and thanking our tour guide, Hannah, for her exemplary insight and guidance. We'll see you all back at Franklin very soon!

Takk takk,

Sean

Our Franklin Academy explorers fly from Reykjavik to Newark, New Jersey today, and they will arrive back on campus around 10:00 pm. Safe travels!
