College & Career Readiness at Franklin Academy

College Preparatory for Grades 8–12 and PG

The Landscape of Post-Secondary Opportunities

Navigating higher education and the workforce can be particularly challenging for neurodivergent students, with ongoing low retention rates in college and high unemployment figures despite an increase in support programs. At Franklin Academy, we recognize these realities and are dedicated to bridging the gap between high school and post-secondary success. Our program emphasizes skill development through experiential learning opportunities and a holistic approach that enhances academic performance, social-emotional growth, independent living, and executive functioning skills. This comprehensive focus is why our students consistently achieve stronger outcomes than their peers, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in both college and their future careers.

A Four-Year Model

Unlike other schools, Franklin Academy prioritizes the transition to post-secondary life starting from the very first year. We understand the specific skills needed for success, and our four-year comprehensive college and career readiness model is designed to develop effective strategies while exposing students to the realities of life after school. Our dedicated Associate Dean of College & Career Readiness works closely with each student, providing personalized support to guide them through their unique journeys. Additionally, our engaging evening group activities help scaffold this transition, ensuring that neurodivergent students are well-prepared to find success in their post-secondary endeavors. At Franklin Academy, we’re committed to empowering our students to thrive in their future.

Defying Outcomes

At Franklin Academy, we take pride in our students’ impressive post-secondary successes. Since opening, our students have gained acceptance to 450 colleges, demonstrating their readiness for higher education. Remarkably, our graduates have doubled the national average of college completion rates for neurodivergent students, showcasing their proven success in navigating college life. Our comprehensive pathways to careers, bolstered by dynamic internship programs, empower students to embrace their passions in the workforce. Our alumni are thriving across a diverse range of fields, from doctors and rockstars to artists, social workers, teachers, and legal assistants, proving that with the right support, the sky’s the limit!
