Today we learned that Clarkson University approved Jacob Zinkerman’s application for admission. Hopefully, this is the first in a succession of acceptances. Jacob’s list is extensive and includes Cornell University, RIT, the University of Connecticut, and RPI. However, we want to congratulate Jacob for the satisfying accomplishment of his first college acceptance.

While a lot of the college focus is on Class of 2020, work with the Class of 2021 has begun. Byron Crozier, College Counselor, and Jen Dziekan, College Transition Advisor for the F.A.C.T.S. program, met with all rising seniors this morning. They introduced the Post-Secondary Planning and Research seminars scheduled during the next eight weeks. As part of the initial work, students will complete a learning styles inventory as well as the O*Net Interest Profiler.

The goal of the seminars is two-fold. Each student is to create a roadmap for senior year and develop a list of appropriate post-secondary choices that support plans for continuing education after Franklin Academy.
