Winter is about to give way to spring. Consequently, it is time to unveil Franklin Academy’s summer program, and you can review our brochure by clicking here. Before you begin reading about our offerings, I want to provide these perspectives.
First, we are offering a two-week virtual summer session from June 21 to July 2. Some of our cyber classes are returning by popular demand, including the Casebook of Sherlock Holmes and Cooking. Others reflect student requests: Hunger Games, Ciphers, and The Truth is Out There. There are also courses for academic credit, such as Genes & Genetics and We Shall Never Surrender.
Second, we are offering a three-week on-campus session from July 5 to July 23. Six different institutes provide immersive experiences in film, musical theater, transitions to college, surviving the apocalypse, mind and body, and scientific photography.
Third, our campus is a perfect destination for summertime enjoyment. The New York Times identifies East Haddam, Connecticut, as one of 52 Places to Love in 2021. Meanwhile, the Nature Conservancy has named the lower Connecticut River as one of our “Last Great Places,” a precious natural area with an “intact ecosystem.”
After a review of the brochure, you will be ready to participate in our Summer Program Virtual Open House. We will host an open house for parents new to Franklin Academy on Thursday, March 25, at 5 pm. Afterward, we will offer a second open house for current Franklin parents on Thursday, April 1, at 5 pm. Please call or email the Admissions Office to register and receive the Zoom link: 860-615-3854 x1114 or admissions@fa-ct.org.
