The Fifth Annual College Trip Begins

We pulled away from campus on Saturday at 7:30 am.  After breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts, we made good time to NYC, arriving at the NYU Welcome Center by 11 am.  Krishna Davda, an alum of the university, provided an inspiring walking tour of the basic footprint of this vibrant urban campus located around Washington Square.  We had lunch at Katz's Delicatessen, an iconic New York eatery.  My Reuben with pastrami on rye was the best I have ever enjoyed. We were on the road to Princeton by 3:30.  While I was dropping Krishna off at Newark Airport for his flight to England where he will be spending the next two weeks on the University of London working on the next leg of his International MBA degree, Josh and James drove the students to our Hampton Inn close to the Princeton University campus.  I caught up in time for dinner with the group at Roots Asian Restaurant.  At our evening meeting back at the Hampton Inn, I asked the students whether they enjoyed the size and hustle and bustle of an urban campus.  I was pleasantly surprised that NYU really resonated with most of them.  Tomorrow, we will have a leisurely morning, checking out of the hotel by 10:30 with an 11:00 Sunday brunch at the Princetonian Diner followed by a campus tour of this Ivy League school at 1:00.  Then, on to Baltimore and a visit to Goucher College on Monday.
