Nestled in the beautiful Connecticut River Valley, Franklin Academy is located on 23 acres in the historic and quaint New England town of East Haddam, Connecticut. The campus is close to well-known colleges and universities. The area offers many cultural, sports and recreational activities. Destinations such as Mystic, Hartford, New Haven, New London, Providence, New York, and Boston are within a two and one half hour driving radius of the school.

The campus property is adjacent to the beautiful 490-acre Chapman Pond Preserve, which leads down to the shores of the Connecticut River. Even though our portion of Connecticut has been inhabited for more than 350 years, eighty percent of the region surrounding the school is forested. Wild life is abundant. We have deer and wild turkey on campus, and we are constantly on the lookout for bald eagles, great blue herons, and red-tailed hawks. Indeed, the lower Connecticut River is one of the most plentiful ecological systems in the country with many natural areas easily available to our students.

Franklin Academy has now secured the use of an additional fifty acres of woods and open meadows adjacent to our campus, providing a remarkable opportunity to master-plan school facilities on a spectacular and spacious property that serves well the unique needs of our students.
